Attending Consultants short profile (Dr. Kaushal C. Malhan):
Dr. Kaushal Malhan brings with him world-class experience in orthopaedic surgery. After coveted assignments at the KEM hospital, Mumbai Dr. Malhan received highly specialized orthopaedic training at premier institutes in the UK. These included the National institute of Sports Surgery, Oswestry, Centre for spinal studies and the RJAH Paediatric Orthopaedic Unit, UK. He has worked in an upper and lower limb Arthroplasty unit with a throughput of over 2500 joint replacements per year. He has acquired a large experience in primary and revision joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Malhan did his post accreditation fellowship in knee surgery with a special emphasis on arthroscopic ligament reconstruction and knee replacement at the internationally acclaimed Freeman Hospital. He is trained in techniques like cartilage transplantation (ACI, Mosaicplasty) and minimally invasive joint replacement. He is on the panel of doctors for the British Olympic Association. He has trained in dedication shoulder units abroad and is presently running a specialized shoulder service at Wockhardt hospital.

Dr. Malhan pioneered the technique of hip resurfacing in Mumbai. He has the largest series of such cases in Mumbai. He is often invited to demonstrate live surgeries and speak on orthopedic problems in India and abroad. The most recent one was a live demonstration of a hip resurfacing operation for a delegation of orthopaedic surgeons from overseas. Dr. Malhan has been on the faculty for a number of joint replacement, sports surgery and trauma meetings. He has himself organized a number of workshops on hip resurfacing.
